More on staying safe on NYE

This is a quick one!

AAA is offering free “Tipsy Tow” for those drinking drivers from 6pm on NYE – 6am on New Year’s Day. If your planning on driving and drinking, click here for more details.

As I wrote about on Halloween, Berg Injury Lawyers are offering another Safe and Sober Free Cab Ride Home from 10pm – 4am. Although they are notoriously difficult to spot, kudos to you if you grab a free cab.

If you need a little perkin’ up, 7/11 will be offering free coffee from midnight to 6am. Though the quality leaves much to be desired, its the thought that counts, right? Click here for details.

Cheers!

DDs, Muni, BART for NYE

The holidays are for celebrating with friends, spending time with family, and feeling that all around warmness that comes with the festivities. I’m here to tell you that you can have fun AND be safe this season! December is almost over and in about 4 days we will be celebrating the start of 2011.

Having a designated driver or alternate forms of transportation are not only important at this time of year, but they are essential year round. So don’t drink and drive!

SFMTA is offering free Muni rides on New Year’s Eve and BART will be running until 3am, so you have NO excuse for not getting home safely. NYE is a night of overindulgence — think sequin dresses, high heels, maybe too many glasses of champagne — but my message is this: be smart about getting in a car once you’ve had too much to drink.

Here is a moving, albiet graphic, video that TAC put together for it’s 20th anniversary. Disclaimer: it is very graphic.

Happy New Year!

Live and let live.

You never know when things may suddenly go awry. Last week, in the middle of my first week at my new position, one thing after another began spiraling out of control with an unemployed roommate. I will spare you the gory details, but in a nutshell, I had to step up and take charge of a messy situation.

Now I’ve lived on my own for about three years, but never in my life have I felt like things were so out of control with a housing situation. Like everyone else, my house is my security so naturally it has been difficult to focus on anything else. One thing I learned throughout all of this? Always trust your instinct.

It’s safe to say everything has turned around. While we are still working out a few kinks, it does give me extreme pleasure to know that I can remain calm and be strong enough to handle life’s little curve balls.

When I look back on 2010, I can see that my maturity has progressed tenfold. They say that you learn so much in every year of your 20s and this couldn’t be further from the truth in my case — I can’t imagine what the next year will hold!

It’s so cliche, but I guess the point of this post is this: when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Or better yet, Lemon Drops.

Cheers!

Bonjour!

I just wanted to say a quick “hello” to my colleagues at Viator.

Up until now, I have been a bit lax in updating this blog lately — hey, looking for a full time job is, well — a full time job! I hope to continue blogging more frequently as the search has come to an end upon accepting the position with Viator.

Ciao!
